This figure is, as yet, the only known preserved ancient sculpture of the  Amazon typ Mattei we know of.

Due to the origin date, the sculpture is at least the earliest representation of  an Amazon created  for Ephesus.

Based on scientific  analysis, this statuette may be a model for an ancient
small reproduction or,
of scientific interest,  a „preliminary study“ for the lost, oversized original statue in bronze.
